CWRUL Memorial Tournament - Spring 2020

Rima was a talented, leading member of Case Women's Ultimate during its early years. In her honor, The Rima Foundation was formed to support the growth of Ultimate in Northeast Ohio. Professor Morrison was an enthusiastic and well respected figure on the ultimate field as well as in the classroom. As a chemical engineering professor at Case, Morrison charmed his students with his excellent sense of humor and care he showed his students. Professor Morrison was battling renal cancer through part of teaching career as well as during his ultimate career; unfortunately, he passed away in 2002. As the founding advisor for the Case Western Ultimate team, he has played a major role in shaping this club into what it is today. We hold this tournament annually in honor of this incredible player, teacher, mentor, and friend whose enthusiasm and spirit we do our best to uphold.

Philip Richey was a Case student, University of Cincinnati alumni, and brother of John Richey of the Fighting Gobies and Jawbone. Philip committed suicide after a long struggle with depression and bulimia. In his spare time Philip was an experimental chef and avid bass guitar player. May his death serve as a reminder of how precious life is, and how critical it is to help those who struggle with mental illnesses and eating disorders.
