Weekly Wisdom #9

Welcome back Gobies!

We are all civilized, polite, and considerate young ladies.  And for this reason, this Weekly Wisdom is going to touch base on the Etiquette of Ultimate (Sect. XIX of the 11th Edition).  These are all things that you should acknowledge just because you are a wonderful person, even though there aren’t strict rules or consequences if you don’t.

a.)     If you did something wrong, let the other team know, even if it wasn’t necessarily called.

b.)     Daylight!  Don’t delay the game, keep things moving (when starting play, when walking to the disc, etc)

c.)     After play stops, make sure the other team knows who’s on the field and where you’re at.

d.)     After a dispute is settled, check the disc back in.

e.)     We were all rookies once…. If someone commits an infraction because they don’t know any better, explain the rules to them.  Teaching is the best way to learn.

f.)       Echo a call as soon as you hear it.

g.)     No intentional rule breakage.

These are merely paraphrased; we encourage you to peruse the actual text.
