Weekly Wisdom #4

Hello Fighting Gobies,

This week's Weekly Wisdom will take a break from the 11 Edition to bring you a little bit of cross-training philosophy.

Ideally every Goby would put in some miles in on the track and power up some hills on the off-days of practice. And we strongly encourage this. However, three-practices a week, (strongly encouraged) optional conditioning sessions and long tournament weekends sometime make the idea of a 5 mile tempo run less attractive than your completing you Sages portfolio.

So Gobies on those days when you would rather get ahead on the next chapter's problem sets then get on some running shoes, do what you love. If you are one of the lucky Gobies who can swim, jump in the pool (really gobies are bottom dwelling fish, so it takes a lot of effort for them to swim up anywhere), go for a bike ride, play some racquetball, get on the climbing wall, scale up and down the ninja stairs pretending to be Bear Grylls... do something. Off days are also a great time to work on your throws- IO, OI, high release, stepping out, hammers, hucks. Get outside while it's still warmer than 10 degrees out.

If all else fails, and the weather is shitty and Veale is closed, nothing beats a game of indoor flutter.
