Weekly Wisdom #10

With the season underway starting tomorrow, we have sat down and established a set of Goby Standards - what we expect from the team, what you should expect from yourselves, and what you should look to improve upon over the course of the year, both individually and as a team.  Take a second, read these, think about them, and keep them in mind as we advance through what is sure to be an awesome season.

Goby Standards:
What we expect from each player at every practice and tournament

- Commitment to the team, both on and off the field
- No complaining
-  Have fun, regardless of how you’re playing or how the game is going
Play hard at practice; prove that there is no need for suicides.
-  Keep open and frequent communication

Focus Points:
What the whole team should work on improving, regardless of skill level
-  Become comfortable playing in all positions (offensively and defensively)
-  Build consistency
-  Go into tournaments looking to be competitive

Individual skills and goals that the player should work on improving

Start thinking about what objectives you would like to individually work on.  We'll be in contact with everyone on the team about the skill level they are at, where they would like to be, and what things they would like to specifically improve upon over the course of the season.  This is something that you should keep in mind all year, and is also something that, as captains, we will work to help you achieve.

We're excited for practice tomorrow and have updated the website with the practice schedule for the week.  Have a great first day of class, don't forget to bring a disc with you to the quad, and we'll see everyone at 8:30.
